WEEK 13

I have done the presentation for my Defense day, my supervisor are asking me to complete my report and send the draft to him to check the report before sending the final report. In the meantime, I am still do the research for my project in order to complete the report.

In Chapter 3, this chapter is focus on the research methodology, the method how to operate the automatic whiteboard cleaner and to identify the suitable component to use to develop this project. This chapter will also explain the block diagram, the use of the hardware application and the flowchart for the whole program to provide informational perspectives towards gaining an understanding it and also gaining more knowledge about the hardware to be use.

This project is focused on how to produce the project step by step until the project is complete. The hardware development is focused on the functionality and operation of the project. A technique is discussed which is to make an automatic whiteboard cleaner by using the ultrasonic and color sensor.

WEEK 14

I have completely my chapter 3 and give to my supervisor to double checked it and waiting for him patiently to comment my Chapter 3.

Also, I has started doing my chapter 4 during this week, In this chapter, there are several aspects that have been considered in the making of the automatic whiteboard cleaner. The Ultrasonic Sensor from our prototype detect the obstacle in front of it and the Colour Sensor is to detect the ink residue on the whiteboard and send the input to the microcontroller (Arduino Nano) then the data are sending the signal to the motor driver. The expected result of this project are in this chapter.

WEEK 15

In this week, I have receive the comment from my supervisor regarding my chapter 3 and I need to do some correction from my report. During this week also, I have come out with my expected project prototype that I done by using Microsoft Words only. Here I attached my expected Prototype look.

The automatic whiteboard cleaner consists of the duster itself, Arduino Nano attached at the top of the duster along with the motor driver and the battery, DC motor at the side of the duster, ultrasonic sensor at the front of the duster, colour sensor at the back of the duster and toggle switch. The DC motor are located at the side of the duster so that the duster can move vertically at the whiteboard and make it easier to clean faster. The ultrasonic sensor are located at the front of the duster to detect any obstacle when the duster are moving and the colour sensor at the back of the duster is used to detect an residue of the ink that the duster did not clean.

WEEK 16

In this week 16, I have completed my final report until Chapter 3 and this week I come out with the expected output for this automatic whiteboard cleaner.

By using the common duster it takes about 25sec to clean up a whiteboard of 10inch wide and 6inch long. The time taken to clean the whiteboard for that size is consider a long time.

For this propose project, this is the expected time taken to clean the whiteboard for whiteboard size 150 inches² is around 9sec. From the size of the whiteboard, if the user are using their hand to clean the whiteboard it can take up to 30sec because it is manual, it also use lot of the energy of the user. By using the automatic whiteboard cleaner, user can save their time about half of the time taken. So this proposed automatic whiteboard cleaner takes less time than using the duster manually by the hand.
